About Baby Steps

The Baby Steps program is a component of the NCI-funded research study "Testing a Clinician and Patient Intervention to Promote smoking Cessation Among Pregnant Women," a study to develop and test the feasibility of an intervention to improve how obstetric clinicians discuss smoking with their pregnant patients.

Participants

Obstetric clinicians enrolled in the Baby Steps 3 study receive training in use of the 5 A's, a communication model they can use to assist their pregnant patients in quitting smoking.
